My name is Amanda, I am from Philadelphia PA. I am 28 years old (10.21) the most important thing to know about me is that I am a mom. My son was conceived May 12th 2007, ironically, I got a tattoo that day of a rose that says “mom”, for my mom. I found out through blood work on June 16th 2007 that I was 4/5 weeks pregnant. On January 30th 2008 I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. My son Jaiden is almost 9 and even though the last 78years of my life have had some major up’s and downs I would not change it for anything. My son is my everything and I will continue to fight to give him what he deserves!
I love pretty much everything crafty. I started out with graphic design at the age of 12 and then grew into doing some small animation for graphics on myspace and live journal. In this process I fell in love with digital scrapbooking. I also have a love for making bows, crocheting, knitting, and some decal work.
I fell in love with Photography when I was in 9th grade. I took a 4 course art class and photography was part of it and ever since I have been in love! I finally bought my DSLR in 2012 and now I am getting my foot in the door to become the best photographer I can be.
A few things I have learned in my years of learning is just because someone is blood doesn’t make them family and just because someone isn’t blood doesn’t mean they can’t be family. I found this out the hard way and I stand by every choice I make. I live my life the way I choose to live it and not the way I am told. I have tried pleasing everyone but I have found out that it is impossible to do so. Now I focus on my son and myself.
I was attending The Art Institute for my degree in Photography when I realized I was really bored with the classes. I took some time off to choose what it was I wanted to do. I decided to go back but change my degree to Graphic design. I was pretty excited about that. I went back only for 12 weeks. About 9 weeks in I was really upset because I was in a photography class I shouldn’t of been in since it has nothing to do with Graphic design. I decided to change schools and in that process I found out that my degree was never changed. They failed to do their part and made no comment on their mistake… In July of 2014 I started at Full Sail University for my Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design. I have had to take some time away from school to focus on work and other things since.
I plan to go back but for now I am keeping busy with work and trying to get back into my blog.
